Welcome to my website. I am beginning my 12th year (28 total) as a business educator at Platteview. I teach the following courses at the high school:
I also teach 7th grade exploratory keyboarding. My coaching responsibilities include junior high football and girls basketball. My educational experience includes earning a bachelor's degree in business administration from Midland Lutheran College in 1981. I earned my master's degree in educational administration from the University of Nebraska-Omaha in 1995. I am a member of the National Education Association, Nebraska State Education Association and the Nebraska Coaches Association. I was named American Legion teacher of the year and also received a 25 year coaching award from the Nebraska Coaches Association. In July 2011, I and 58 other secondary/post-secondary business educators and curriculum specialists participated in writing the Nebraska State Standards and Programs of Study for Business Education for the Nebraska State Department of Education. I believe it is a priority for my students to take ownership in their own educational experience. Everyone in my classroom has the opportunity to be both a teacher and a learner. I want my students to understand the value of being enrolled in business classes because it is truly a chance to apply many things learned in a classroom to their real-life situations. | |
